CSMM certification, also known as "Software Capability Maturity Model Certification", is the first national standard certification for software capability maturity models led by the China Electronics Technology Standardization Research Institute, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The CSMM standard draws on standard model frameworks such as GB/T 8566, Scrum, DevOps, ISO15504, COBIT, ITIL, CMMI, etc., inherits the system engineering management theory that covers the entire software lifecycle, and innovatively combines the national conditions and characteristics of Chinese software enterprises, which can effectively guide Chinese software enterprises to build and strengthen software capacity building.

In the context of promoting the nationalization of information and innovation, it has profound strategic significance in leading the high-quality development of China's software industry and achieving independent and controllable development.

This model defines five levels based on the evolution and development trend of software capability maturity level from low to high. High levels need to be fully implemented on the basis of low levels. At present, the highest level of certification that enterprises can obtain for the first time is level four.

Certification of CSMM Level 4 requires the preparation of a large amount of materials related to competency requirements in the short term, and the evaluation of the software development and management capabilities of the certification subject is extremely strict.

Without any precedent to refer to, Yanlian Computing, a subsidiary of Yinyan Technology Service Group, relied on its strong software development and management capabilities to inspect 20 sub domains, 53 clause numbers, and 161 clause contents over a period of 7 months. It provided landmark deliverables in over 500 project systems, held 20+on-site training and interview meetings, and was interviewed by 22 people to discuss the implementation and application of the software process. Finally, it completed a series of certification work and successfully passed the CSMM level 4 certification requirement. During the process, it received high recognition from the certification agency for maturity of capabilities and team professionalism.
